Thu, Dec. 30th, 2004, 12:53 am Hi
Just wanted to say a quick "hi". I haven't forgotten about this fic, I'm just having some problems with it. We shall continue again soon.
Thanks for your patience.
Thursday is totally the new Wednesday, don't you know. No? How about "Thursday, like Wednesday, only later"? What? Hey! Look over there! ( Lathan: Still alive and loving it )
Wed, Oct. 27th, 2004, 06:20 am Hola
Not abandoned! Not abandoned, I swear. I don't have fic for you today, but regular installments will return shortly, now that mini-series madness has calmed. *phew* By the way, Lathan is out of the box, and the chain smokin', hard drinkin' monkey has apparently fallen into infinity. So, there's that, at least. See you next week, and this time I really, really mean it. *cough*
And no, there's no fic.
Sorry.
It's less than two weeks before the mini-series and this last month has been crazy and this next week and a half will be more so.
Sorry.
Really.
Quite sorry.
We'll be back. Soon. Or eventually. Promise.
Bye for now.
Oh, and Lathan's still fine. Except for the part where he's been in a box with a chain smoking, hard drinking monkey who periodically attacks him. But aside from that, he's just perfectly a-okay.
Really.
*cough* Wed, Sep. 15th, 2004, 11:22 am postponed
Sorry, Wednesday Fic postponed this week because of a sudden onslaught of the wacky. But go look at the pretty new site made specially for people who've never seen Farscape before -- Farwhat.com. See you next week. :)
Check it out, I've got an hour and a half left of Wednesday in CA. *phew* Made it. When last we saw our favorite crew, they'd all just been blown up and D'Argo was missing. ( Luxan Bits, now in bite sized chunks )
We're only on part 8? Does this surprise anybody else, or just me? Though, I guess it hasn't been that long, and we're not actually that far into the story, still in like set-up, or some dren. Of course, only with me will you get an 18,000+ word intro. It's all vaguely depressing for some reason. Anyhoo ... Like the new icon? Heh. Though he's not in this part, Lathan did make a cameo appearance in a Farscape/B5 RPG last night and, d00ds, he totally got laid! Heh, again. And now to part frelling 8. Seriously, only 8? Man. When last we saw D'Argo, Crichton and Stark -- while searching for Chiana, they met some of the charming youth of Chosul. ( It's raining crockery. Hallelujah. Amen. )
Sadly, I have nothing pithy to say this morning. I mean, come on, it's morning and I'm awake. There are things wrong about both of those facts. ( Tiny tyrants )
It's the return of Wednesday Fic! Are you excited? I'm excited. Comic Con was fun, but now it's over and we're moving on. Back to schedule *cough*. What? Shut up. when we were last at our story, Stark and John were discussing not getting blown up by rebel bombs.( I like a little clockwork with my orange )Thanks for reading. :)
There's no way in hezmana I'm finishing this by tomorrow, I'm so way, way tired and it's only Tuesday and already this week is wacky. I didn't want to leave you with nothing for Wednesday, however, so here's half a part. A semi-decent place to break presented itself so I snatched at it. Yes, I am posting this on a Tuesday, and that's because I'm leaving at 0'dark:30 tomorrow morning and my posting it before leaving just is never gonna happen. So here you are ... a bit ... ( Coin Tossing for Dummies )
Hello poor, tortured readers of this fic. The month has been nuts and I've been uninspired in the nutsness. Anyway, so I don't have a full part for you, but I thought I'd at least give you Lathan's latest journal entry. And next week (on the day I leave for Comic Con, no less) there will be a new part. John and D'Argo have started speaking to me again. I never thought I'd miss my boys so much. ( Lathan and the unfortunate dinner )
Wed, Jun. 30th, 2004, 06:34 pm Hiatus
My heart hasn't been in it since my last post. Nothing major or even campaign related for once, just a bit o' news that knocked me off my stride. No worries. See you next week.
I have no pithy commentary this morning. Sorry. Oh, but I do have a warning -- Sprog haters, stay away from my sprog. If you've got Sprog-issues, suck it up and deal. She won't be in this much, but she's part of John Crichton, so she's gonna be around. Got it? Good. (Yes, I'm up before noon, it's painful and unnatural and is clearly making me cranky.) ( Aliens, man. )
It's Wednesday, time for Wednesday Fic. Today's episode brought to you by The Who, Newcastle Brown Ale and Firefly (because I worked on this while trying desperately not to start another fic, in this case a Firefly fic). This week, I've put up a Who song for your listening pleasure while reading Wednesday fic. Now this song doesn't really have anything to do with this episode, nor the Wednesday fic story as a whole, but it is a bitchin' tune and it's off my favorite Who album and it does have that handy Farscape tie-in. ETA - I totally forgot to mention that I shamelessly stole a line from Ghostbusters. I love Ghostbusters, and so does John. When last we saw our guys doing blah, blah, blah it's 5:30 in the morning and I want to go to bed, blah, blah whatever-cakes( When Good Meter-Maids Go Bad )
*phew* Had a bit of a scare there when the DSL went down right as I tried to post this. Wouldn't that just be about right? Jeebus. And I was being so good about getting this out this week. Last week was just such a wash, and I blame DK [so what else is new? -- ed. What's your point?]. Anyway, to today's business -- I think I'm going to change the name of this fic from "Dear Abby" to "Shut That Frell Upward". Because it makes me laugh. What do you lot think? Read this bit and tell me which title you prefer. I may actually pay attention to you. Or not. Who knows. Can't hurt to try, can it? And if I pick the name you don't like, you could always campaign to get me to change it. I accept many forms of bribery. When last we saw Wednesday Fic, Crichton and Lathan had been arrested and Crichton was musing about stuff.( part 2 -- Blood, snot and cobbler )
Wed, May. 26th, 2004, 04:05 am delay
Wednesday fic will be delayed one day. Who's shocked? Well you shouldn't be. Anyway, delayed on account of servers I hate with a deep and abiding passion. But delayed only one day because there are good folks out there who can tame the vile, wretched server beasts. See you tomorrow.
Wed, May. 19th, 2004, 04:11 pm Part 1
Do forgive me for this bit being rather short and light on the funny. I require some little bit of set-up before we really get cooking. ( Part 1 -- Damn Luxans )( Next time on -- )Join us next week, same bat-time, same bat-channel, bigger and better bat-explosions. And a monk on stilts. And dialogue, because this narrative cycle I'm stuck in, is just killing me. Killing me, man! DON'T MISS IT!
I posted this a couple of weeks ago on The Monkey Cabal, but I'll post it again so I have something of substance to post. Look for Part 1 the week of May 16 (possibly on wednesday which is the 19th, just fyi). This takes place after "I Don't Like Mondays", so if you haven't read that (just why haven't you? huh?), you might want to go back and check it out. Both stories take place at an indeterminate point sometime after the season 4 finale so there could be spoilers for absolutely any episode from the "Premier" to "Bad Timing". Don't say I didn't warn ya. ( Teaser )
Once upon a time, on my blog, I wrote a little Farscape fanfic called "I Don't Like Mondays". Every week (sorta), I'd post a segment. Theoretically those pieces were supposed to come out each Tuesday, thus its common name "Tuesday Fic". Of 20+ parts, I think only 3 or 4 actually came out on Tuesdays, but it's the thought that counts. No really, it is. When Tuesday Fic was finished a handful of people expressed some mild interest in another fic along the same lines. A sequel or, you know, second in a semi-amusing series. So I'd mentioned the idea of maybe a "Wednesday Fic". There was a round of restrained golf claps and a few "oh, my, that would be somewhat amusing"-type comments, so I figured, oh sure, what the hell. To help my vast audience of three or four keep track of Wednesday Fic, I decided to start a LiveJournal to house it. Posts will be all in one place, free from the tiresome social and/or fandom commentary present on the monkey cabal or my blog. So, no more having to wade through the boring dren I spew to get to your random day fic needs. Friend me, you crazy fool, you! And spread the word! Or don't, you know, whatever. Given that I don't think I'm actually able to post fic on the same day consistently, and it was generally miracle enough to get out a part a week, I decided to call this journal "Random Day Fic". That's also a nice CYA in case there's ever a Thursday Fic, or you know, Sunday Fic. It could happen. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, eh? Cart before the horse, duck before the alligator, and all that. So ... coming soon -- WEDNESDAY FIC aka Dear Abby Exciting, non?
Previous random day fic - Tuesday Fic aka I Don't Like Mondays - can be found here. -- see? somebody somewhere liked it. great banner by Jeff. Cheers, Jeff. :) |
